Indonesia passport photo: there is none to bring

No photo to bringOfficial source

No size, no background colour, no print. The authority produces the image itself, so nothing here is yours to prepare.

Why there is no editor on this page

Our editor cuts a photo to a published size. Indonesia publishes none for this document, so there is nothing to cut to. We would rather say that than hand you a crop no office asked for.

Indonesia passport

The Directorate General of Immigration lists the taking of the photograph and fingerprints (Pengambilan foto dan sidik jari) as a step of the issuance process at the immigration office, and its requirements list asks only for documents: the KTP or certificate of moving abroad, the family card, a birth or marriage certificate, diploma or baptism certificate, a naturalisation certificate where relevant, and a name-change decision where relevant. No applicant photograph appears anywhere.

How the image is produced

An officer photographs you at the counter when you apply.

An official page says so in as many words.

Where a photo is still accepted

  • Scope: the ordinary passport applied for in Indonesia. Applications at Indonesian missions abroad could not be verified, because the kemlu.go.id mission sites do not serve their passport pages to any reachable route.
